    Job Description

    Mediclinic Welkom is seeking an experienced and dynamic Hospital General Manager to oversee the overall operations of the hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality healthcare services while achieving operational and financial objectives.

    This leadership role requires a strategic manager who can drive business growth, maintain strong relationships with healthcare professionals, manage hospital finances, enhance the patient experience, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and quality standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Drive business growth, strategic planning, and ongoing development of the hospital.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, particularly medical practitioners and specialists.
    • Manage and control hospital budgets, financial performance, and resource allocation.
    • Oversee initiatives that improve the overall patient and client experience.
    • Ensure patient safety by promoting high standards of clinical governance and quality care.
    • Lead, develop, and manage hospital employees to achieve organisational goals.
    • Identify, manage, and mitigate operational, financial, and clinical risks.
    • Ensure continuous improvement in the quality of healthcare services delivered.
    • Support the integration of healthcare services across the continuum of care within the region.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant healthcare legislation, governance standards, and organisational policies.
    • Manage contracts and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
    • Monitor operational performance using business metrics and implement improvement strategies.

    Minimum Requirements

    Applicants should meet the following requirements:

    Essential Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in:
      • Business Administration,
      • Healthcare Management, or
      • a related field.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Qualification in Business Management with subjects in Finance.

    Experience

    • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in a general management role.
    • Preferred: Experience within a private healthcare environment.

    Knowledge and Skills
