Job Description
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a Trolley Collector to ensure that shopping trolleys are collected from the store, car parks and surrounding shopping centre areas and returned to the designated trolley area.
The successful candidate will help maintain an adequate supply of clean and safe trolleys while assisting customers and supporting the store with additional duties when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect trolleys from car parks and surrounding shopping centre areas.
- Stack and move trolleys back to the designated trolley area.
- Exercise caution around pedestrians and vehicles.
- Return trolleys to the store for easy customer access.
- Identify and report damaged trolleys to management.
- Perform minor trolley repairs where possible.
- Ensure trolleys are clean before returning them to the trolley area.
- Ensure sufficient trolleys are available for customers.
- Assist customers in locating trolleys.
- Direct customers to the store or Customer Service Desk when required.
- Report missing or damaged trolleys to management.
- Assist with other store duties when not collecting trolleys.
Requirements
Essential
- Grade 12 / Matric.
- No previous retail experience required.
- Willingness and ability to work retail hours.
Advantageous
- Up to 6 months’ retail experience.
- Bilingual ability.
- Ability to identify and report suspicious or inappropriate behaviour.
