Role Summary
The Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary will provide direct and/or indirect nursing care to patients while working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role involves ensuring proper patient care, handling of medical equipment, and the economic use of hospital resources in the ward.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver nursing care to individual patients and groups as per hospital protocols.
- Assist in ensuring that patient documentation is completed accurately.
- Maintain hygiene standards and infection control procedures in the ward.
- Monitor and assist with patient recovery and general well-being.
- Ensure safe handling and economical use of stock and medical equipment.
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families.
Requirements for the Role
To qualify for this Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary position, applicants must meet the following inherent requirements:
- Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as an Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary.
- Comply with the SANC Scope of Practice for an Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary.
- Possess a Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or an equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification.
- Have relevant experience in the nursing discipline.
