    Purpose of the Role

    The Despatch Controller position is a vital role within Sasol’s Sasolburg and Natref Operations unit. Successful candidates will be responsible for inspecting vehicles and documentation, managing loading slots, and ensuring the seamless dispatch of vehicles in a controlled and organized manner.

    As a Despatch Controller, the successful candidates will take on the following tasks:

    • Conducting thorough visual inspections of vehicles, drivers, and related documentation.
    • Issuing inspection certificates and rejecting vehicles that fail to meet compliance standards.
    • Identifying and reporting any defects or safety issues observed during inspections.
    • Communicating effectively with drivers to ensure a clear understanding of the company’s safety protocols.
    • Issuing necessary dispatch documents and overseeing the movement of vehicles.
    • Managing and organizing the loading slot booking system.
    • Keeping accurate records of driver and vehicle information to ensure compliance.
    • Maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the workspace and surrounding areas.

    Qualifications and Experience

    To qualify for this role, applicants must meet the following requirements:

    • A High School/School Diploma or equivalent certification.
    • Less than one year of experience in a similar role.
    • Basic computer skills for managing the registration and scheduling of transporters.
