    Main Purpose of the Job:

    The Deputy Director: Fraud and Anti-Corruption will play a leading role in developing, implementing, and managing the Department’s fraud prevention strategy. This position is critical in reducing corruption risks and ensuring ethical governance and transparency across departmental operations. The role involves interdepartmental collaboration, policy implementation, awareness campaigns, and ongoing monitoring and evaluation.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop, manage, and monitor the Department’s Anti-Corruption and Fraud Prevention Strategy and Implementation Plan

    • Design and introduce effective mechanisms to detect, prevent, and reduce corruption and fraud within the department

    • Establish and maintain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including Labour Relations, Legal Services, SAPS, and the National Intelligence Agency

    • Draft and present anti-fraud awareness materials and facilitate training initiatives

    • Lead investigations in collaboration with law enforcement and internal audit teams

    • Provide technical advice on governance, ethics, and regulatory compliance

    • Manage human and financial resources within the Fraud and Anti-Corruption Unit

    • Report on risk areas and submit regular updates to senior leadership

    • Ensure compliance with Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Public Service Act, and other legislative frameworks relevant to anti-corruption

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Educational Qualification: A recognized Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Public Administration, Management, or a related field

    • Experience: Minimum 3–4 years of relevant experience in anti-fraud, risk management, governance, or public sector ethics

    • Other Requirements:

      • Proven ability to manage teams and multi-stakeholder projects

      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

      • Sound knowledge of South African legal and regulatory frameworks

      • Experience in conducting investigations or working with law enforcement is advantageous
