The Free State Provincial Treasury is a key component of the Free State Provincial Government, committed to promoting sound financial governance across provincial departments and public entities. As part of its mandate to enhance transparency, accountability, and effective asset management, the Treasury is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join its team as Deputy Director: Asset Management. This role is instrumental in ensuring proper asset control, inventory management, and compliance with financial legislation and policies.

Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain policies, strategies, and systems for effective asset and inventory management.
Monitor and support departments and public entities in safeguarding assets.
Oversee financial management and reporting processes related to assets and inventory.
Implement transparent and economical practices for asset disposal within the provincial administration.
Provide support and capacity-building initiatives for asset and inventory management across departments and entities.
Manage and lead the Asset Management component.
Qualifications:
A three-year Degree or Diploma in Financial Management, Accounting, Commerce, or an equivalent qualification (Accounting III as a major subject is essential).
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in an accounting environment, with at least three (3) years at Assistant Director/supervisory level.
Knowledge of PFMA, MFMA, Treasury Regulations, Division of Revenue Act, and Municipal Structures Act.
Strong leadership, analytical, communication, project management, report writing, and conflict management skills.
Computer literacy and a valid driver’s license are required.
Benefits:
R896 436 per annum (Level 11) all-inclusive flexible remuneration package.
Includes basic salary, Government Employees Pension Fund contribution, and structured flexible portion (may include 13th cheque, housing allowance, motor car allowance, and medical aid assistance).
