The Free State Provincial Treasury is committed to ensuring sound financial governance and strategic alignment across all departments within the provincial government. As part of its mission to drive effective service delivery through planning and performance management, the department is seeking a motivated and experienced professional for the role of Assistant Director: Strategic Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation.
This position plays a vital role in supporting the department’s strategic and operational planning, as well as in ensuring performance monitoring and compliance with national and provincial frameworks.

Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain policies and strategies for Strategic Planning and Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) in line with national and provincial frameworks.
Facilitate the development and regular review of the Department’s Strategic Plan, Annual Performance Plan (APP), and Operational Plan.
Oversee implementation of Strategic and APPs, ensuring compliance with government directives.
Monitor departmental performance against the Strategic, Annual, and Operational Plans.
Assist in implementing M&E frameworks and policies.
Support and develop capacity among departmental managers and staff in areas of Strategic and Operational Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation.
Qualifications:
A relevant Degree or Advanced Diploma (NQF Level 7) in Public Administration, Public Management, Strategic Planning, or an equivalent qualification.
Minimum of 5 years’ working experience in the Public Service, preferably with exposure to strategic management, monitoring, and evaluation.
Sound knowledge of Public Service Regulations, PFMA, MFMA, Treasury Regulations, and other local government legislation.
Excellent presentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Computer literacy and a valid driver’s license are required.
Benefits:
R468 459 per annum (Level 09), basic salary.
