Job Overview
As a Cost Accountant, your primary responsibility will be to ensure accurate yield and production calculations while continuously monitoring costings. This role demands a proactive, analytical thinker with a solid understanding of financial metrics, costing systems, and industry-specific practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement an efficient costing system.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date costing records.
- Monitor and analyze project costings and profit margins.
- Prepare and distribute costing and margin reports.
- Create and maintain costing models for internal use.
- Track purchase and sales price variances.
- Evaluate stock at month-end and assist with stock counts.
- Support budget and forecast processes, particularly regarding pricing structures.
- Compile detailed monthly management reports.
- Maintain fixed asset registers and inventory records in Navision.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Educational Background:
- Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 Equivalent.
- A degree in Commerce Accounting.
- CIMA qualification is advantageous.
- Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles.
- Work Experience:
- At least 3 years in cost accounting.
- Previous exposure to the FMCG sector is required.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with financial software like Navision.
- Other Requirements:
- Willingness to work overtime when needed.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
