Main Purpose of the Job
Fidelity ADT is looking for a reliable Assistant Technician to support installations of alarm systems and related security infrastructure including CCTV, intercoms, and access control systems. You’ll assist the Installations Technician in physically setting up, connecting, testing, and handing over systems for commercial banking environments.
Minimum Requirements & Skills
Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent (mandatory)
Minimum 1 year experience as a Wireman
PSIRA Grade C registration (advantageous)
Practical electrical/electronic knowledge beneficial
Ability to work under pressure with high attention to detail
Must be physically fit to handle drilling, lifting, and cabling work
Key Responsibilities
Assist with installation of alarm, intercom, CCTV, and access control systems
Run new cables and assist with wiring and connectivity of security devices
Mount detectors, panels, sirens, lights, and contacts
Perform basic configuration, walk-tests, and power-up procedures
Report shortages of equipment/tools to the lead technician
Clean and maintain workspaces and company vehicles
Assist in training clients on basic system operations and handovers
