Job Title: Assistant Manager Specialty (Obstetric and Gynaecology) PNB-4

Responsibilities:
Oversee and coordinate comprehensive, specialized nursing care in Obstetric and Gynaecology units
Ensure adherence to professional, legal, and ethical standards in nursing practices
Promote quality assurance and implement best practices in maternal and women’s health
Supervise clinical nursing care delivery within defined nursing scopes and standards
Manage human and financial resources within the unit
Provide ongoing support for nursing education, training, and research
Maintain professional growth and support staff development
Monitor and manage risk, ensure compliance with reporting and data standards
Communicate health information effectively to assist patients in achieving optimal health
Qualifications:
Diploma/Degree in Nursing that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
Current registration with SANC for 2025/2026
Post-basic qualification in Obstetric and Gynaecology (minimum 1 year, SANC-accredited)
Minimum 10 years of appropriate nursing experience post-registration as a Professional Nurse
At least 6 years of this experience must follow the 1-year post-basic qualification
At least 3 years must be at management level
Additional qualifications in Health Care Management or Nursing Administration are advantageous
Skills:
In-depth knowledge of nursing legislation, ethical practice, and service delivery policies
Familiarity with Public Service Act, PFMA, HR, and financial procedures
Strong clinical leadership and planning abilities
Report writing and data management skills
Commitment to continuous professional development
Benefits:
Annual salary: R755,355 – R863,667 per annum (based on experience)
