Responsibilities:

Support the Radiography Manager in achieving departmental goals and maintaining a 24-hour radiography service

Supervise and manage radiography staff, chair meetings, conduct PMDS-based performance reviews

Ensure optimal use of radiography equipment, staff, and consumables within the cost centre

Implement and monitor departmental policies and procedures
-
Manage quality assurance programs in compliance with radiation safety regulations and Department of Health standards
-
Oversee clinical training and mentorship of junior and student radiographers
-
Promote interdepartmental collaboration for quality service delivery
-
Ensure compliance with Radiation Protection Services, Occupational Health and Safety, Labour Relations, and Infection Control
-
Monitor and enhance equipment maintenance protocols
-
Perform and supervise diagnostic procedures to a high clinical standard
Qualifications:
-
Matric (Senior Certificate)
-
Recognized qualification in Diagnostic Radiography enabling registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)
-
Current HPCSA registration as an Independent Diagnostic Radiographer
-
Minimum 10 years relevant post-registration experience, including at least 5 years in a management role

Proof of experience (endorsed and stamped by employer) required for shortlisted candidates
Skills:
-
Comprehensive understanding of radiographic practice and imaging modalities (CT, Fluoroscopy, MRI – advantageous)
-
Knowledge of radiographic protocols, equipment use, and radiation protection measures
-
Sound knowledge of public sector health regulations, safety protocols, and labour relations
-
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

Computer literacy
