Job Description
The Department of Employment and Labour is looking for an Assistant Director: Human Resources Office & Employment Relations to support the effective implementation and monitoring of Human Resource Management and Employee Relations policies and programmes within the Free State Province.
The successful candidate will coordinate HR management policies, provide advice on employee relations matters, manage Employment Equity programmes, monitor the administration of service benefits and oversee the staff and activities of the Sub-Directorate.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor the implementation of Human Resource Management policies within the Province.
- Monitor the implementation of Employee Relations policies and relevant prescripts.
- Provide advice on Employee Relations policies and procedures.
- Coordinate and manage the implementation of Employment Equity programmes.
- Monitor the administration of employee service benefits.
- Manage staff within the Sub-Directorate.
- Manage and oversee all activities of the Sub-Directorate.
- Ensure that HR policies and procedures are effectively implemented and monitored.
Requirements
Qualifications
- A three-year tertiary qualification in Human Resource Management.
- A valid driver’s licence.
Experience
- At least 2 years’ supervisory experience.
- At least 2 years’ functional experience in Human Resource and Employment Relations Services.
Knowledge Required
Candidates should have knowledge of:
- Public Service Transformation and Management issues.
- White Paper on Transformation of the Public Service.
- Converting policy into action.
- Human Resource systems and procedures.
- Public Service Act and relevant resolutions.
- Recruitment and Selection.
- Departmental policies and procedures.
- Batho Pele Principles.
- Minimum Information Security Standards.
Legislative Requirements
