Asset Finance Specialist
To provide specialist asset finance advisory and sales support to clients while ensuring the successful development and execution of Absa’s Commercial Asset Finance strategy. The incumbent will build strong partnerships with clients and internal teams, ensuring that asset finance solutions align with business goals, risk frameworks, and customer needs.

The Asset Finance Specialist is responsible for driving growth and performance within Commercial Asset Finance (CAF) by managing client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring compliance with banking standards and regulations. The role requires an experienced business banking professional with strong analytical, leadership, and relationship management skills, capable of delivering results within a fast-paced financial environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Relationship Management

Develop and maintain professional relationships with existing and potential clients to grow the asset finance portfolio.

Build strong networks with industry leaders, regulators, policy makers, and business partners

to identify new opportunities and stay informed about market changes.

Act as a trusted advisor by providing expert financial advice, product recommendations, and tailored asset finance solutions.

Engage with key stakeholders to ensure smooth operational delivery and client satisfaction.
2. Business Development

Lead and implement strategies for bulk acquisition and asset finance growth in line with the Absa Business Banking strategy.

Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the commercial and SME sectors.

Work collaboratively with internal teams (credit, operations, and compliance) to ensure efficiency in deal execution.

Drive sales targets by promoting CAF products, cross-selling banking solutions, and maintaining a healthy pipeline of potential clients.
3. Market Intelligence and Strategic Insight

Conduct ongoing research into market trends, economic shifts, and competitor activity to ensure Absa remains competitive in the asset finance landscape.

Use insights to develop informed business strategies and product offerings that respond to customer and market needs.

Stay current with innovations and technological advancements affecting the asset finance industry.
4. Operations and Compliance

Ensure all CAF activities comply with Absa’s policies, risk management frameworks, and the regulatory environment.

Monitor performance against business targets, ensuring alignment with operational and compliance objectives.

Education and Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Commerce, or Management Studies (essential).
