Responsibilities:
Lead the development of research flagships and strategic academic initiatives
Oversee all research and postgraduate student activities within the faculty
Support the Dean in implementing research strategies, securing third-stream income, and fostering innovation
Chair the Faculty’s Higher Degrees and Research Committee
Ensure compliance and excellence in postgraduate thesis submissions and examination processes
Promote internationalisation and cross-border collaborations
Build strategic partnerships, industry linkages, and funding networks
Lead engaged scholarship initiatives and represent the faculty on institutional committees
Qualifications:
Doctoral degree (NQF Level 10) in a faculty-aligned discipline
Appointed at Associate Professor or Professor level
NRF-rated or eligible for NRF-rating
Proven postgraduate supervision (master’s and PhD) and research publication record
Proven experience in research grant applications, third-stream income generation, and innovation
Prior management experience in an academic environment
Internationally recognised for research leadership and peer-reviewed publications
