The District Sales and Merchandising Agent is responsible for driving sales growth and ensuring merchandising excellence across retail, franchise, and wholesale customers in the Free State region. This role involves building strong client relationships, identifying business opportunities, ensuring promotional compliance, and supervising merchandising teams. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a results-driven approach, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a competitive FMCG environment.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key retail, franchise, and wholesale customers.
Conduct market and product analysis to identify opportunities for growth.
Implement sales and merchandising strategies to achieve volume and value targets.
Ensure promotional compliance and execute product launches.
Supervise merchandisers to ensure store standards are met.
Address stock availability, manage waste, and oversee short-dated stock.
Provide regular feedback on market trends and competitor activity.
Manage budgets and operational resources effectively.
Qualifications:
Matric (Grade 12) required; marketing or sales diploma/degree preferred.
Valid Code EB driver’s licence.
1–2 years direct selling experience (preferably in FMCG).
Strong analytical, planning, and communication skills.
Computer literacy (MS Office & digital applications).
