The appointment will be for a five-year period and will operate on an as-and-when-required basis, meaning that orders and testing activities will be undertaken according to ATNS’s operational requirements rather than a fixed annual quantity.

    Scope of Work

The appointed service provider will be responsible for:

Radar Gear Oil Supply and Delivery

    • Supply Radar Gear Oil in 20-litre containers as required by ATNS.
    • Deliver the required oil to Bram Fischer International Airport.

    • Provide technical data sheets when requested.
    • Provide samples for verification before purchase orders are issued where required.

    Oil Analysis and Testing

    • Conduct laboratory analysis of oil samples from the designated radar systems.
    • Analyse samples from three radar systems, with three samples per testing cycle for each radar system.
    • Assess oil condition and identify signs of degradation or contamination.
    • Assess relevant gearbox/component condition based on laboratory findings.

    Reporting and Recommendations

Following each analysis cycle, the service provider must provide comprehensive laboratory reports containing:

    • Test results and analysis.
    • Oil condition assessment.
    • Gearbox/component condition assessment where applicable.
    • Identification of potential maintenance concerns.
    • Recommended maintenance interventions.
    • Corrective actions where required.

    • Completed pricing schedules and applicable preference-point documentation.
    • Ability to provide on-demand supply, testing and reporting throughout the five-year contract period.

The successful service provider should have the capability to:

    • Supply and handle specialist radar/industrial gear lubricants.
    • Perform reliable laboratory-based oil analysis and testing.
    • Interpret lubricant condition and degradation results.
    • Identify potential equipment or gearbox maintenance concerns from test results.
    • Produce clear and technically detailed laboratory reports.
    • Provide practical maintenance and corrective-action recommendations.
    • Manage irregular, as-and-when-required orders and testing cycles.
    • Maintain reliable delivery and turnaround capabilities over the full contract period.
    • Meet South African public-sector procurement and compliance requirements.

    Accreditation and Quality Assurance

The tender indicates an 80/20 preference point system, with:

    • 80 points: Price
    • 20 points: Preference/socio-economic objectives

Bidders should consult the official tender documentation for the precise preference criteria and evidence required for claiming points.

    Contract Duration

The successful service provider will be appointed for a period of five (5) years.
