Tender Overview
The National Museum, Bloemfontein, invites suitably qualified service providers to supply and install split air-conditioning units at Oliewenhuis and Artbank.
The successful bidder will be responsible for the removal of existing units and the supply and installation of new heating and cooling air-conditioning systems.
Scope of Work
The work includes:
- Removal of existing complete split air-conditioning units.
- Retention of existing isolators.
- Supply and installation of new split air-conditioning units.
- Disconnection and reuse of power from existing isolators.
- Testing and commissioning of the installed units.
- Ensuring proper functionality and compliance with applicable technical standards.
Air-Conditioning Requirements
The required units include:
- Two 9 000 BTU units for areas of up to approximately 18m².
- Two 24 000 BTU units for areas of up to approximately 48m².
- Units must provide both heating and cooling functions.
- Samsung AR4500 or an approved equivalent may be used.
- Units must include a 10-year compressor warranty.
- Equipment must comply with relevant standards and regulatory requirements.
Bidder Requirements
Bidders must demonstrate:
- Registration with the Department of Labour in terms of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Electrical Installation Regulations.
- At least five years’ experience in HVAC, electrical or related services.
- Valid CIPC registration documents.
- Proof of business premises, such as a lease agreement or municipal rates and taxes account.
- At least three contactable reference letters on official letterhead and signed by authorised persons.
Required Qualified Personnel
The service provider must have access to suitably qualified personnel, including:
- Professional Mechanical Engineer registered with ECSA.
- Trade Test Electrician.
- HVAC Trade Test qualification in air-conditioning, accredited by Merseta or SAQCC/SARACCA.
