Tender Overview
The Department of Defence invites suitably qualified service providers to construct a 12.5 km perimeter fence at the General De Wet Training Area in De Brug, Free State.
The project aims to improve the security and perimeter integrity of the military training facility.
Scope of Work
The successful contractor will be responsible for:
- Construction of a 12.5 km perimeter fence.
- Compliance with the technical specifications and requirements in the tender documentation.
- Adherence to applicable quality and construction standards.
- Compliance with all site access, safety and security protocols.
- Coordination with the employer’s representatives throughout the project.
- Completion of the project within the required timelines.
Eligibility Requirements
Tenderers must:
- Have a CIDB contractor grading of 4SQ or higher.
- Be approved suppliers registered with both CIDB and CSD.
- Demonstrate relevant experience in perimeter fencing or similar infrastructure projects.
- Have suitably qualified personnel with technical expertise in fencing construction and project management.
- Demonstrate the capacity to meet the required project deadlines and quality standards.
- Comply with all relevant safety, security and regulatory requirements.

Venue: Regional Works Unit Free State, Shorty Van der Merwe, Tempe, Bloemfontein.
Attendance is compulsory.
Bidders are advised to arrive one hour before the official briefing session for administration purposes.
