Tender Objective
Eskom invites qualified service providers to supply and analyze hazardous chemical agents sampling media on an as-and-when-required basis for a period of five years at Lethabo Power Station. The objective is to support occupational hygiene, environmental compliance, and workplace safety through reliable sampling media and laboratory analysis services.
Scope of Work
The successful bidder will be responsible for:
- Supplying hazardous chemical agent sampling media.
- Conducting laboratory analysis of collected sampling media.
- Providing services on an as-required basis over a five-year contract period.
- Ensuring compliance with Eskom’s quality, safety, health, and environmental standards.
- Delivering analytical reports that support occupational hygiene monitoring and regulatory compliance.
Technical Requirements
Bidders must demonstrate the ability to:
- Implement and maintain an ISO 9001-compliant Quality Management System (QMS).
- Prepare and implement:
- Contract Quality Plans (CQP)
- Quality Control Plans (QCP)
- Inspection and Test Plans (ITP)
- Manage subcontractors and external suppliers where applicable.
- Conduct inspections, testing, verification, and quality assurance activities.
- Comply with Eskom’s Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) requirements.
- Apply risk management procedures and emergency preparedness measures.
- Adhere to relevant standards, including ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and Eskom quality and safety requirements.
Skills and Experience Required
The successful bidder should demonstrate:
- Proven experience supplying hazardous chemical sampling media.
- Experience conducting laboratory testing and analysis of hazardous chemical agents.
- Knowledge of occupational hygiene sampling practices.
- Experience implementing ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
- Ability to prepare quality documentation and inspection plans.
- Strong reporting, auditing, and record-keeping capabilities.
- Experience managing subcontractors and laboratory processes.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation.
Personnel Requirements
The contractor should have qualified personnel with expertise in:
- Laboratory analysis.
- Occupational hygiene.
- Inspection and testing.
- Quality assurance.
- Risk management.
- SHEQ compliance.
- Relevant specialised testing processes where applicable.
