    Student Advisor

    The Student Advisor plays a vital role in promoting Rosebank College’s brand, recruiting new students, and supporting them throughout the enrolment journey. This position requires a results-driven individual with excellent interpersonal, marketing, and communication skills who is passionate about education and student success. The Student Advisor acts as the face of the institution — engaging with prospective students, parents, schools, and community stakeholders to create awareness, generate interest, and drive enrolments.

    Key Purpose

    To attract, engage, and enrol students by effectively promoting Rosebank College’s qualifications and offerings through school visits, career fairs, digital engagement, and direct communication. The role contributes directly to the college’s growth, brand visibility, and student retention goals.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Brand Awareness and Marketing

    • Represent Rosebank College professionally at schools, exhibitions, and community events to promote its programs and student opportunities.

    • Conduct presentations to matriculants and educators to showcase the institution’s courses, facilities, and academic pathways.

    • Develop new leads and identify untapped markets for student recruitment.

    • Manage promotional activities, including school visits, open days, and educators’ conferences, to build relationships and increase visibility.

    • Actively engage with parents and guardians through phone calls and follow-ups to inform them about available programs and the college’s value proposition.

    • Maintain and strengthen relationships with schools, education forums, and community organizations.

    2. Student Recruitment and Enrolment

    • Respond promptly and professionally to enquiries (in-person, online, and telephonic) from prospective students.

    • Guide applicants through the career consultation process, helping them identify suitable programs based on interests and aptitude.

    • Ensure all prospective students complete their applications correctly and are aware of closing dates and required documents.

    • Follow up on pending applications to encourage completion and conversion to registration.

    • Keep accurate records of all leads, interactions, and recruitment outcomes in line with college systems and procedures.

    • Meet or exceed set enrolment and conversion targets for each intake.

    3. Stakeholder Relationship Management

    • Build and maintain positive relationships with educators, parents, and students to foster trust and credibility in the Rosebank College brand.

    • Host and coordinate educator engagement sessions, school visits, and stakeholder events to strengthen partnerships.

    • Act as a liaison between the college and external stakeholders, providing consistent feedback and ensuring alignment with institutional values and messaging.

    4. Administrative and Operational Support

    • Manage daily recruitment administration including lead tracking, scheduling, reporting, and record maintenance.

    • Collaborate closely with campus and marketing teams to align recruitment activities with broader marketing campaigns.

    • Provide feedback and insights from the field to help refine recruitment strategies and marketing messaging.

    • Ensure adherence to Rosebank College policies, ethical recruitment standards, and higher education regulations.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Matric certificate (essential).

    • Advanced Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in Marketing, Public Relations, or Communication (ideal).

    • 1–2 years of experience in sales and customer service, preferably in the education or training sector.

    • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the region.

    • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
