Job Description
This role involves developing academic learning materials and assessments for Coding and Robotics modules in higher education.
You will:
- Create study guides and assessments
- Work with subject matter experts
- Develop LMS content (e.g., Moodle)
- Update and improve learning materials
- Ensure content meets academic standards
In simple terms: you design how students learn coding and robotics in higher education.
Key Responsibilities
1. Content Development
- Create new learning materials (study guides, notes, activities)
- Develop assessments aligned to curriculum standards
- Work with academic subject experts
2. Instructional Design
- Follow structured academic development guidelines
- Align content with programme specifications
- Ensure materials meet institutional brand standards
3. Digital Learning (LMS)
- Upload and manage content on systems like Moodle
- Build interactive online learning materials
- Manage module pages on LMS platforms
4. Quality Assurance
- Review and update learning content
- Work with moderators and copy editors
- Fix content-related issues and queries
5. Assessment Design
- Create assessments across different NQF levels
- Ensure academic alignment and fairness
- Support student learning outcomes
6. Collaboration
- Work with academic teams and subject specialists
- Participate in communities of practice
- Support continuous improvement of modules
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Master’s degree in one of the following:
- Education (MEd)
- Information Technology
- Computer Systems
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering (or related field)
- PGCE (advantageous)
Experience
- At least 3+ years experience in:
- Lecturing OR
- Academic content development in higher education
- Experience with:
- LMS platforms (Moodle preferred)
- Assessment creation
