Job Description
Crown Bag (Pty) Ltd, a packing material manufacturer and subsidiary of VKB Landbou (Pty) Ltd, is seeking a highly organised and detail-focused Stock Controller to manage inventory and stock control processes.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, monitoring stock movements, supporting production activities, conducting stock reconciliations and contributing to effective inventory planning and reporting. The role requires strong numerical and analytical abilities, attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage inventory control processes.
- Monitor daily incoming and outgoing stock transactions.
- Conduct stock reconciliations and investigate stock variances.
- Prepare and maintain stock lists and inventory records.
- Generate and analyse inventory reports to ensure optimal stock levels.
- Prepare monthly stock reports and variance explanations.
- Prepare month-end stock journals for review and approval.
- Coordinate and support stock counts and audits.
- Purchase raw materials according to operational requirements.
- Monitor stock movements associated with production activities.
- Capture and process daily production information.
- Assist with implementing inventory control improvements and best practices.
- Identify and help mitigate stock-related risks.
Requirements
- Grade 12 / NQF Level 4.
- 3–5 years’ experience in stock control, inventory management or stores administration.
- Experience in manufacturing, agriculture or warehousing environments will be advantageous.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Computer literacy.
- Understanding of stock management principles and controls.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail.
