Job Purpose
The Spray Painter is responsible for preparing vehicle surfaces, assembling parts for paint application, applying paint to vehicle bodies, carrying out touch-ups and repairs, ensuring accurate colour matching, and maintaining spray-painting equipment to achieve high-quality finishes.
Job Description
The successful candidate will perform vehicle spray-painting duties, including surface preparation, paint application, colour matching, and finishing work while ensuring quality workmanship and maintaining spray-painting equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Apply paint to the main body of vehicles.
- Use tack wipes to prepare vehicle surfaces before painting.
- Perform paint touch-ups and repairs on vehicles.
- Apply stripes and black spray finishes where required.
- Ensure proper colour coordination and accurate paint matching.
- Prepare vehicle surfaces before the spraying process.
- Monitor and maintain spraying tools and equipment.
- Ensure high-quality paint finishes that meet company standards.
- Promote efficiency and effectiveness throughout the spray-painting process.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Grade 12 (Matric Certificate).
- Certificate in Spray Painting or an equivalent qualification.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in the same or a similar spray-painting role.
