The Free State Department of Education is seeking qualified and passionate Social Workers to provide learner support services at three special schools. These positions form a vital part of multi-disciplinary teams that support inclusive education and child development.

Responsibilities:
-
Conduct interviews and developmental assessments for learners with challenging behaviours.
-
Design and implement Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
-
Provide therapeutic services and parental guidance.
-
Liaise with external community resources and services.
-
Participate in multi-disciplinary teamwork.
-
Write reports and maintain accurate administrative records.
-
Organize social support meetings and assist school management.
Qualifications & Requirements:
-
A four-year degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.
-
Registration with SACSSP (South African Council for Social Service Professions) as a Social Worker.
-
Experience in working with multi-disciplinary teams and project management.
-
Computer literacy and excellent English verbal and written communication.
-
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively.
-
Knowledge of National Curriculum Statement, White Paper 6, and relevant education and inclusive education policies.

Knowledge of one or more African languages of the region.

Preferred:
-
Degree-level qualification.
-
Qualification in Education and registration with SACE.

Salary:
R325,200 – R382,374 per annum (OSD)
Salary notch will depend on years of experience after SACSSP registration.
