    Purpose of the Role:

    To coordinate, develop, teach, and manage Short Learning Programmes (SLPs) in South African Sign Language (SASL) and Deaf Studies. This includes curriculum design, delivery, quality assurance, and administrative leadership aligned with institutional goals and community needs.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate and manage face-to-face and online SLPs in SASL and Deaf Studies.

    • Teach and develop academic content using digital platforms (Blackboard, Kovsie Phahamisa).

    • Ensure academic quality, curriculum renewal, and compliance.

    • Manage SLP administration including budgeting, invoicing, marketing, and scheduling.

    • Engage internal/external stakeholders and promote Deaf awareness.

    • Provide student support and mentorship.

    • Support research, community engagement, and curriculum innovation.

    • Create promotional materials and marketing strategies.

    • Drive development of new SLPs aligned with community and institutional needs.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in South African Sign Language.

    • Advanced proficiency in SASL.
