Job Overview
Clicks Group is seeking three customer-focused and reliable Shop Assistants/Cashiers to join its stores in Bethlehem and surrounding areas. The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service, processing transactions accurately, handling cash safely and maintaining high merchandising and housekeeping standards.
The role also involves promoting the Clicks ClubCard programme, informing customers about promotions and ensuring that shoppers enjoy a positive in-store experience. Candidates should have good communication skills, basic mathematical ability and a strong interest in retail and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Process customer purchases efficiently and accurately at the point of sale (POS).
Scan merchandise correctly and collect payments for goods purchased.
Handle cash securely and follow established cash-handling procedures.
Process Clicks ClubCard rewards and encourage customers to join the ClubCard programme.
Promote in-store promotions, special offers and relevant products to customers.
Provide friendly, professional and efficient customer service.
Act as a brand ambassador for Clicks by maintaining a positive and helpful attitude.
Perform merchandising duties in accordance with store and visual merchandising standards.
Maintain cleanliness, housekeeping and the general appearance of the store.
Stay informed about products, product ranges, promotions and upcoming events.
Provide customers with accurate product and promotional information.
Follow store procedures and management instructions.
Contribute to sales targets and support the company’s commitment to customer satisfaction.
Job Requirements
Educational Qualifications
Grade 12 (Matric) is essential.
Mathematics with at least 50% at Grade 12 level is desirable.
English with at least 50% at Grade 12 level is desirable.
Experience
– Previous experience in a customer-facing role within a retail or FMCG store environment is desirable.
Knowledge Requirements
Basic mathematical calculations.
Understanding of retail or FMCG operations.
Knowledge of merchandising and promotional principles.
Understanding of stock management procedures.
Knowledge of customer service excellence.
