To contribute to the academic mission of the Central University of Technology by developing, presenting, and assessing academic content in Applied Mathematics, Applied Physics, or Statistics. The incumbent will also engage in scholarly research, postgraduate supervision, and community projects that align with the faculty’s vision for innovation and development.

Job Title: Senior Lecturer: Applied Mathematics / Applied Physics / Statistics

Responsibilities:

Teach, assess, and evaluate students in Applied Mathematics, Applied Physics, or Statistics.

Conduct research and supervise postgraduate students.

Participate in curriculum development and relevant community engagement projects.

Perform administrative and organisational duties related to the academic environment.

Present papers at national and international conferences.
Qualifications:
-
A Doctorate (D Tech / PhD / NQF 10 or equivalent) in Applied Physics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a relevant Engineering field.

At least four years of teaching or lecturing experience in a relevant subject field.

Proven research output and postgraduate supervision.

Experience in community engagement related to teaching, learning, research, or innovation.
Desired Experience:
-
Experience using MATLAB or SPSS software.
-
Curriculum development experience.
-
Lecturing experience at a University of Technology (UoT).
Benefits:

Minimum total cost to company: R979,931 per annum (subject to CUT’s internal parity model and based on qualifications and experience).
