Exciting nGAP Lecturer Role: Sesotho | Closing Date: 04 July 2025
The Central University of Technology, Free State (CUT) is seeking a motivated and academically strong individual to join the Faculty of Humanities as an nGAP Lecturer in Sesotho. This permanent academic position, based at the Welkom Campus, involves teaching Sesotho and Sesotho Methodology, engaging in research and postgraduate development, and contributing to community outreach. The role is part of the New Generation of Academics Programme (nGAP), aimed at strengthening academic staff capacity in South African universities. Ideal candidates will hold a Master’s degree in Sesotho with a qualification in Education and demonstrate strong academic performance and teaching experience.

Responsibilities:

Develop academic material and lecture in Sesotho and Sesotho Methodology.

Conduct student assessments and evaluations.

Participate in research activities and contribute to academic scholarship.

Perform administrative and organisational duties related to teaching.

Engage in community service projects aligned with teaching and research.
Qualifications:
-
A Master’s-level degree (M Tech / MSc / NQF 9 or equivalent) in Sesotho.

A qualification in Education.
-
At least a 70% average in the highest degree obtained.

Minimum of two years’ teaching, lecturing, or industry experience relevant to the subject field.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:

Progress toward a Doctorate degree.

Evidence of published research, innovation, or creative academic output.
Benefits:

Minimum total cost to company: R777,297 per annum (subject to CUT’s internal parity model based on qualifications and experience).
