    Job Summary

    This entry-level clerical position provides administrative and financial support within the Municipal Services – Utilities division. The incumbent will be responsible for processing property rates payments, reconciling debtor accounts, capturing invoices, and ensuring accurate cash allocation in alignment with financial and departmental procedures.

    Minimum Requirements

    • NQF Level 4 (Grade 12 or equivalent).

    • Computer literacy (preferably MS Office and PASTEL).

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

    • Planning and organisational skills.

    • No prior work experience required.

    Key Duties & Responsibilities

    • Render general clerical support services for the Municipal Services – Utilities division.

    • Process property rates payments and monitor the debtors’ register.

    • Capture monthly rental invoices in the PASTEL system according to signed lease agreements.

    • Request and review weekly BAS reports to confirm payments received.

    • Allocate cash receipts in PASTEL in line with BAS report data.

    • Compile reconciliations between PASTEL and BAS based on received payments.

    • Liaise with departmental salary sections to ensure accurate PERSAL deductions per approved stop orders.

    • Follow up on outstanding debts in accordance with the approved debt management policy.

    • Execute write-offs as authorized by the Debt Policy.
