Purpose of the Role
The Lab Assistant will support day-to-day laboratory operations, assisting in sample transportation, waste removal, and general cleaning, with occasional involvement in experimental tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow all safety standards and complete required safety training.
- Transport samples safely within the Sasolburg area and deliver lab consumables.
- Manage the logistics for sending samples to customers.
- Replace gas cylinders as needed and communicate stock needs.
- Support R&D personnel in lab activities.
- Ensure the lab and storage areas are clean and organized.
- Maintain lab vehicle (fueling, inspections, etc.) and discard waste per guidelines.
- Collaborate with lab staff to foster a supportive work environment.
- Engage in personal development activities to meet performance goals.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Education: Matric or equivalent, with Mathematics and Science.
- Experience: 0+ years of relevant experience.
- Additional Requirement: Code 08 Driver’s license.
