    Job Overview:

    The University of the Free State’s Health Centre is seeking two experienced and qualified Professional Nurses to provide comprehensive clinical services, implement HIV prevention and treatment programs, manage health awareness campaigns, and coordinate peer education efforts. This is a critical student-facing role aimed at delivering quality primary healthcare and promoting wellness on campus.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Deliver professional clinical services in the campus Primary Health Clinic

    • Provide HIV counselling, initiate and manage treatment (NIMART certified)

    • Administer Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) and other preventative interventions

    • Capture patient notes and data on an electronic medical system

    • Perform quality control, stock management, and clinic resource planning

    • Respond to on-campus emergencies and assist at sport events when required

    • Design and implement health and HIV awareness campaigns

    • Coordinate Peer Educator programs and deliver training workshops

    • Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders

    • Develop health training materials aligned with program outcomes

    • Present health promotion sessions to the wider campus community

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Nursing Diploma or Degree in General, Psychiatric, Midwifery, and Community Nursing (Attach)

    • Post-Basic Diploma/Degree in Primary Healthcare (Attach)

    • Valid Dispensing Certificate (Attach)

    • NIMART certification – Nurse-Initiated Management of ART (Attach)

    • Proof of SANC Registration (Attach)

    • Knowledge of PrEP protocols

    • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Primary Healthcare Clinic

    • Valid driver’s licence (Attach)

    Recommendations:

    • Additional dispensing license (Attach proof)

    • Prior experience with young adults or student health
