Roof and Ceiling Repair Contractor for Sasolburg Police Station
The National Department of Public Works (NDPW), based in Bloemfontein, is inviting qualified contractors to submit tenders for critical maintenance work at the Sasolburg Police Station. The focus of this contract is the repair of persistent roof leaks and the refurbishment of water-damaged ceiling structures, which are affecting the structural integrity and operational safety of the facility.
This opportunity is ideal for small to medium enterprises (SMEs) in the construction and maintenance sector, especially those with previous experience working on government infrastructure projects. The department estimates that contractors must have a Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) grading of 1SN or 1GB or higher to be considered eligible for participation. This grading ensures that applicants have the necessary qualifications and resources to undertake the project.
The awarded contractor will be responsible for conducting a full site assessment, identifying all sources of roof leakage, and implementing durable repairs. Additionally, they must repair or replace all sections of the interior ceiling that have suffered from water damage, ensuring that the station meets operational and safety standards upon project completion.
This is a project-based tender and does not represent a permanent employment opportunity. However, contractors who demonstrate strong performance, adherence to timelines, and compliance with all requirements may be favorably considered for future projects issued by the Department of Public Works.
The project is to be completed under strict adherence to government standards and public safety protocols. Contractors must be able to coordinate efficiently with the on-site SAPS (South African Police Service) personnel to avoid interference with day-to-day law enforcement activities. Successful execution of this contract will directly improve working conditions for police staff and contribute to community safety.
Applicants are required to obtain the official tender documents online through the designated portal. The documents include full specifications, site visit details, submission guidelines, and evaluation criteria. Only submissions using the official documents will be considered. No late submissions will be accepted.
This tender offers a valuable opportunity for emerging contractors to showcase their capabilities and establish or strengthen relationships within the public infrastructure sector. It also emphasizes the government’s ongoing efforts to maintain its assets in optimal working condition and improve service delivery across departments.
If you meet the grading and have the necessary expertise and resources, you are strongly encouraged to apply and be part of a project that directly supports law enforcement infrastructure.
