Job Purpose
To manage, coordinate, and oversee the placement of student teachers for school-based integrated learning (WIL) across all qualifications in the Foundation and Intermediate Phases.
Key Responsibilities
1. Partnerships with Schools
Liaise with the Department of Education for placement approvals.
Establish and maintain partnerships with schools.
Evaluate schools to ensure suitability for student placements.
Manage MOUs, letters of authorization, and placement communications.
2. Student Placement & Support
Conduct orientation workshops on professionalism and school expectations.
Manage placement logistics and school visit schedules.
Track student progress and handle any disciplinary or placement issues.
Maintain updated student placement records and trackers.
3. Supervisor Recruitment & Training
Recruit and onboard teaching experience supervisors.
Conduct training and assign supervisors based on student location.
Monitor supervisor–student communication and resolve supervision gaps.
4. Teaching Experience Administration
Ensure timely completion of assessments and documentation.
Follow up on outstanding student submissions.
Prepare and submit regular progress reports.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
B.Ed. Honours Degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Education (NQF Level 8).
Qualification must include a focus on the Intermediate Phase.
Experience
Minimum 3 years of teaching experience in the Foundation Phase.
5 years experience in teacher training or development processes.
1 year experience in teaching coordination or supervision.
Other Requirements
Valid driver’s license and own car.
No criminal record.
Retired teachers or educators from other sectors are encouraged to apply.
Ability to work remotely when required.
