Job Overview
The Store Manager is responsible for leading and managing the overall operations of the Clicks store in Bothaville. The role focuses on driving sales and profitability, maintaining high standards of service excellence, ensuring compliance, and managing all aspects of store operations including staffing, stock control, merchandising, customer service, and administration.
The Store Manager will lead a diverse team to achieve financial and operational targets while maintaining the brand’s image and customer experience standards.
Job Description
Financial Performance & Sales
Drive and maximize store sales and profitability
Track daily sales targets and implement weekly/monthly sales plans
Take proactive actions to achieve financial goals
Operational Management
Manage all store operational activities including expenses, stock control, shrinkage, housekeeping, and administration
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
Merchandising & Visual Standards
Oversee in-store visual merchandising execution
Ensure promotional standards and store presentation meet brand requirements
Maintain store appearance aligned with Clicks brand image
People Leadership & Development
Lead, manage, and develop store staff to ensure high performance
Conduct recruitment, training, performance management, and staff development
Build a capable team to meet current and future business needs
Staff Scheduling & Labour Management
Schedule staff according to labour policy and labour model
Ensure all departments are adequately staffed
Administration & HR Compliance
Ensure accurate and timely administration including time & attendance records
Submit required reports and employee records to HR
Customer Service & Loyalty
Implement customer service initiatives and corrective actions
Drive customer satisfaction, loyalty, and Clicks Club Card participation

Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders including centre management, suppliers, and distribution centres

Minimum Requirements
Experience
Minimum 5 years’ experience in store management within retail/FMCG
Experience in a store with annual turnover of at least R50 million
Extensive people management experience
Financial management experience (budgets, P&L, financial ratios)
Education
Grade 12 (Maths 50% and English 50%)
B Degree or Diploma (Retail / Finance management, pharmacy or related) — essential for external applicants
