Purpose of the Role
To ensure all stock received is accurately checked, recorded, and controlled by comparing supplier invoices and purchase orders. The Receiving Clerk ensures correct accounting of stock and prevents incorrect supplier payments.
Key Responsibilities

Verify invoices and purchase orders against delivered quantities.

Ensure compliance with GWDP (Good Wholesaling and Distribution Practice) and UPD SOPs during receiving.

Identify and correctly handle special storage products (e.g., temperature-sensitive items).
-
Capture receiving data accurately and promptly on UPD’s online system.
-
Record and report discrepancies or damages and create the relevant claim documents.
-
Maintain cleanliness and order in the receiving area.
-
Report and clean up any breakages/spillages according to SOPs.

Meet operational deadlines and cost containment targets.
Minimum Requirements
-
Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
-
NQF Level 2 in Wholesale and Retail Distribution (advantageous).

1 year of experience in the pharmaceutical or warehouse industry (preferred).
Knowledge & Skills
-
Basic product knowledge and understanding of warehousing and distribution processes.

Competent in Microsoft Word & Excel.

Experience using SAP and KNAPP systems (highly preferred).

Knowledge of WMS (Warehouse Management Systems).

Strong communication and numerical accuracy skills.
