Job Overview
The Junior Industrial Operator is responsible for supporting grain handling and storage operations within VKB Grain. This role involves monitoring grain flow, managing grain protection processes, and ensuring safe and compliant silo operations. The role requires strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and the ability to work in a hands-on industrial environment.
Purpose of the Role
To perform complex and varied tasks within the grain handling and storage function, ensuring continuous monitoring, protection, and safe storage of grain according to company policies and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities

Continuously monitor the flow of grain during handling operations

Conduct grain protection activities such as fumigation as instructed by supervisor

Monitor grain tube temperatures and report deviations to supervisors
-
Measure grain tubes according to policy and safety regulations
-
Operate silo equipment in compliance with VKB Group policies and regulations
Minimum Requirements
-
Grade 12 or NQF 4 qualification
-
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role/environment (essential)

Certificate in Grain Grading and Grain Fumigation is advantageous
