    Job Overview

    The Admin Underwriting and Claims role is responsible for providing administrative support in the underwriting and claims functions for Personal, Commercial, and Agri short-term insurance products within the VKB Brokers team.

    The role ensures accurate processing of insurance instructions, renewals, and claims administration while maintaining compliance with the FAIS legislative framework. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, numerically strong, and able to work effectively with brokers, insurers, colleagues, and management.

    Purpose of the Role

    To manage and execute administrative underwriting and claims processes, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant processing of insurance instructions, renewals, and customer queries.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Process and approve insurance instructions accurately before month-end

    • Review and monitor information received on instructions

    • Ensure all renewals are processed correctly and on time

    • Maintain effective communication and reporting with brokers, insurers, colleagues, and management

    • Manage the administrative function on CIMS (claims/insurance management system)

    • Resolve customer queries and complaints within FAIS legislative framework

    • Complete product-specific training and maintain required CPD points

    Minimum Requirements

    • Grade 12 qualification

    • Short Term Insurance NQF Level 4 or Higher Certificate (NQF Level 5)

    • Regulatory Examination for Representatives (RE5)

    • Previous insurance industry experience (advantageous)

    • Strong numerical skills

    • High attention to detail, accuracy, and precision
