Job Overview
The Health Facility Planner is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supporting the development of infrastructure projects within the Free State Department of Health. The role focuses on translating healthcareanner is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supporting the development of healt service needs into well-defined infrastructure project briefs and business cases that support effective, compliant, and sustainable health service delivery.
This position works closely with health facilities, end-users, and stakeholders to ensure that capital and maintenance projects are properly planned, justified, and aligned with legislative and departmental requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Health Infrastructure Planning
Prepare project briefs for capital and maintenance health infrastructure projects.
Translate service delivery requirements into practical infrastructure solutions.
Ensure project briefs align with departmental strategies and health service needs.
Business Case Development & Review
Review business cases for infrastructure projects in consultation with health facilities.
Support end users in the preparation and refinement of business cases.
Ensure business cases comply with legislative, regulatory, and planning frameworks.
Stakeholder Engagement
Present and discuss project briefs with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
Facilitate collaboration between health facilities, planners, and infrastructure teams.
Provide planning support and technical guidance to end users.
Compliance & Governance
Ensure planning processes comply with applicable legislation, regulations, and standards.
Maintain accurate documentation and records in line with regulatory requirements.
Support sound decision-making through accurate planning and documentation.
Job Requirements
Qualifications
Matric.
Degree in any Health-related field at NQF Level 7, recognised by SAQA.
Experience
3–5 years’ appropriate experience in health planning from an infrastructure perspective.
Mandatory Requirements
Valid driver’s licence.

Knowledge of:
Public Service Regulations.
Labour Relations Act (2000).
