    Job Purpose:

    The Equipment Sales Representative will be responsible for selling agricultural machinery such as tractors, harvesters, sprayers, and other equipment to farmers and agri-business clients. The role involves identifying customer needs, providing tailored solutions, maintaining strong customer relationships, and driving sales growth within the agricultural sector.

    Key Responsibilities:

     Sales & Customer Engagement:

    • Identify customer needs and offer suitable equipment solutions

    • Present and demonstrate machinery to clients

    • Negotiate and close sales deals

    • Achieve or exceed monthly sales targets

    Lead Generation & Market Development:

    • Generate leads through farm visits, referrals, and agri-events

    • Follow up on leads from internal teams

    • Provide workshop and spares teams with customer service leads

    • Foster long-term client relationships and repeat business

     Product Knowledge & Technical Expertise:

    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Orchard Agri’s product range

    • Stay informed on industry trends and competitor offerings

    • Attend training and demos to enhance technical product understanding

     Customer Support & After-Sales Service:

    • Guide clients on equipment usage and basic maintenance

    • Coordinate with workshop/service teams for setup and support

    • Handle customer concerns, warranties, and service follow-ups

    Sales Reporting & Administration:

    • Keep accurate records of all sales activities and customer interactions

    • Prepare reports for Sales Manager with forecasts and market insights

    • Collaborate with internal teams for smooth order processing

    Minimum Requirements:

    Qualifications:

    • Matric (required)

    • Further qualifications in Sales, Agriculture, or Mechanical Engineering (advantageous)

    Experience:

    • Minimum 3 years in agricultural equipment or related machinery sales

    • Experience in dealing with farmers in fruit, nut, grape, berry, or citrus sectors (advantageous)

    License:

    • Valid driver’s license essential (travel to customer sites required)

    Key Skills & Competencies:

    • Proven sales and deal-closing ability

    • Strong customer service and engagement skills

    • Good technical understanding of agricultural equipment

    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills

    • Self-driven, motivated, and able to manage multiple tasks

    Working Conditions:

    • Based in Worcester, Western Cape

    • Frequent regional travel to farms and customer sites

    • May require occasional weekend or after-hours work
