    Job Overview

    The Doctor Detail Representative will promote pharmaceutical products to medical professionals (GPs and specialists), ensuring market share growth and product education across the Free State territory. You’ll be the primary point of contact between the company and medical doctors, with a strong focus on product detailing, territory management, and market strategy implementation.

    Key Responsibilities

    Doctor Engagement & Product Promotion

    • Educate scripting doctors on assigned products using clinical data

    • Promote products by displacing competitors with strong evidence

    • Execute the company’s brand marketing strategy

    • Book and attend timely appointments with doctors

    • Achieve a minimum of 9 doctor calls per day with 75% pre-scheduled

    • Maintain a balance between GPs and specialists

    Territory & Relationship Management

    • Ensure 90% of doctors are seen every 6-week cycle

    • Categorize doctors into A, B, and C priority levels

    • Stay within a 120 km radius for daily trips

    • Collaborate with sales reps to ensure product availability

    Data, Reporting & Product Knowledge

    • Maintain updated knowledge of products

    • Score 85%+ on product knowledge assessments

    • Submit weekly planners, expense reports, and call logs

    • Use tools like Repwise, Power BI, and smart sheets for territory planning

    • Analyze data and adapt strategy per customer

    Performance Targets

    • Meet script targets for assigned products

    • Contribute to the brand’s goal to become the #1 prescribed product in its category

    Minimum Requirements

    Education

    • Bachelor’s degree in a medical or health science field such as:

      • Biokinetics

      • Physiotherapy

      • Other related healthcare/biomedical degrees

    Experience

    • Open to graduates (rookies) or experienced sales/medical reps

    Skills

    • Computer literate (Microsoft Office suite)

    • Strong planning, time management, and admin skills

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    • Ability to analyze and apply market and doctor-specific data

    Travel & Mobility

    • Must have a valid driver’s license and own vehicle

    • Willing to travel 90% of the time

    • Must be comfortable with overnight stays
