Job Description
Mediclinic, an international private healthcare services group, is seeking a Credit Controller in Bloemfontein to proactively manage financial risk and maximise collection of outstanding debt. The role requires sound knowledge of debt collection procedures, medical aid billing, and healthcare administration.
You will play a key role in supporting the hospital’s financial sustainability by ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely debt collection processes aligned with both healthcare funders and internal policies.
Key Responsibilities

Manage and mitigate financial risk related to outstanding accounts

Collect outstanding debt to meet or exceed organisational benchmarks

Efficiently utilise resources to support collection and credit control processes

Apply rules and regulations related to funder contracts and ensure their correct implementation

Execute reconciliations, adjustments, and follow-up activities across financial classes

Handle bad debts, overpayments, unclaimed funds, and other account discrepancies

Ensure compliance with relevant debt collection laws and internal policies
Minimum Requirements
Education
-
Grade 12 / Matric (Essential)
Experience
-
Debt collection experience (Essential)
-
2–3 years’ experience in a debt collection environment (Preferred)

Experience in the private healthcare / hospital environment (Preferred)
Key Skills & Knowledge Areas
-
Credit control and debt collection principles, policies, and legislation

Medical Aid billing requirements and claim processes

Financial acumen – including reconciliations, journals, debits/credits

Working knowledge of AS400 system, Debtpack, Connect, and EDI processes

Patient Administration procedures and systems

Familiarity with relevant legislation:
