Job Overview
The Construction Foreman – Civils is responsible for leading and supervising on-site civil construction activities for large-scale renewable energy and infrastructure projects. This role focuses on ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
The position is ideal for a hands-on leader with extensive experience in civil earthworks and renewable energy projects, who thrives in fast-paced site environments and can effectively manage teams, resources, and subcontractors. The Foreman plays a key role in driving site productivity and translating project plans into successful on-the-ground execution.
Key Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate daily civil construction activities on-site, including earthworks and related infrastructure works.

Lead site teams and subcontractors to ensure productivity, quality, and adherence to project schedules.

Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards at all times.

Monitor progress against project plans and report on site performance to project management.

Manage site resources effectively, including labour, materials, equipment, and plant.

Ensure work is executed according to drawings, specifications, and approved construction methods.

Enforce proper time management and productivity standards across site teams.

Assist with planning, sequencing of works, and coordination with other disciplines on site.

Support successful delivery of high-value projects (R20 million+).
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications

National Diploma in Construction or Civil Engineering OR
-
Matric (Grade 12) with extensive relevant site experience
Experience & Skills
-
Minimum 10 years’ experience in:
-
Renewable energy projects
-
Civil earthworks and infrastructure construction
-
-
Proven completion of 3 or more projects valued at R20 million or more
-
Strong leadership and team management skills
-
Excellent time management and organisational abilities
-
Valid driver’s license
