    Job Overview

    The HR Generalist is responsible for delivering comprehensive human resources support at a mining operation in the Free State. This role covers the full HR lifecycle, including employee relations, recruitment, compliance, performance management, and HR administration, while ensuring alignment with labour legislation and company policies.

    The ideal candidate is an experienced HR professional with a strong understanding of HR practices within a mining or industrial environment. This role requires someone who can operate independently, handle sensitive employee matters professionally, and support management in driving a productive and compliant workforce.

    Job Description

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide end-to-end HR generalist support across the mining operation.

    • Manage recruitment and selection processes, including onboarding and offboarding.

    • Handle employee relations matters, including disciplinary processes, grievances, and hearings.

    • Ensure compliance with South African labour legislation and mining industry standards.

    • Support performance management, training, and skills development initiatives.

    • Maintain accurate HR records, reports, and employee data.

    • Advise line management on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.

    • Assist with payroll inputs, leave management, and benefits administration where required.

    • Promote a positive workplace culture and support employee wellbeing initiatives.

    Minimum Requirements

    Qualifications

    • Matric (Grade 12)

    • BCom in Human Resource Management or a similar HR-related qualification

    Experience & Knowledge

    • Minimum 5 years’ experience as an HR Generalist

    • Proven experience working in a mining environment

    • Strong knowledge of labour legislation and HR best practices

    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
