    An Agritalent client—one of South Africa’s leading agribusinesses—is seeking a Business Intelligence (BI) Manager to support strategic and operational decision-making through high-quality data analysis, reporting, and BI model development. The role focuses on identifying business needs, collaborating with the IT department to ensure data availability, and providing continuous improvements to reporting systems in a dynamic and evolving environment.

    This is a full-time, permanent role based in the Free State and is ideal for a candidate with strong financial, analytical, and BI skillsets.

     Job Summary

    The BI Manager will be responsible for developing BI models, dashboards, and reports that support multiple business departments. This includes analysing business requirements, ensuring relevant data is accessible, creating actionable insights, and improving reporting processes. The role requires a solid financial/accounting background, significant experience in data and reporting environments, and strong BI software proficiency—particularly Power BI and Excel-based reporting.

     Key Responsibilities

    Business Needs & Data Management

    • Identify and analyse business information needs across departments.

    • Ensure required data is available by working closely with the IT department.

    • Support continuous improvements in reporting frameworks and data processes.

    Reporting & Model Development

    • Develop BI models and data-driven reports for business use.

    • Create meaningful, accurate, and interactive dashboards and analytical outputs.

    • Interpret data to support both strategic planning and operational performance.

    Decision Support

    • Translate business data into actionable insights.

    • Provide ongoing analytical support to departments and management.

    • Improve reporting to keep pace with business and technology changes.

     Minimum Requirements

    Education

    • BCom or B.Accounting degree.

    • Completed SAICA/SAIPA articles.

    Experience

    • 5+ years experience in a financial, IT, or reporting environment.

    • Experience in an agribusiness environment is advantageous.

     Skills & Competencies

    Technical Skills

    • Strong interest and competency in data analysis, BI, and reporting.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI.

    • Skilled in using Microsoft Visual Basic (VBA) for Excel reporting automation.

    • Exposure to COBOL and IBM-i operating systems is beneficial (but not required).

    Soft Skills

    • Excellent analytical thinking.

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills (Afrikaans + English).

    • Ability to collaborate effectively with both IT and business teams.
