Position Overview
Rosebank College, part of The Independent Institute of Education (The IIE), seeks a Lecturer to teach and support students in the Bachelor of Law Enforcement programme with specialisations in Policing, Human Resources, or Public Safety.
This role involves delivering lectures, developing teaching materials, monitoring student performance, supporting assessments, and engaging in academic research and professional development. The position is suitable for candidates with a strong academic background and practical industry experience in the relevant field.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Student Support
Deliver lectures according to module-specific requirements
Track module pacers and prepare students for assessments
Identify and support at-risk students
Develop assessments in consultation with the Central Academic Team
Monitor student engagement and assessment submissions
Update Learning Management System (LMS) and provide student feedback
Offer academic support to Programme Coordinators
Academic Administration
Manage teaching resources and liaise with the Information Centre
Attend academic meetings across faculties
Reflect on and analyse student module results to identify trends or risks
Assist with student registration and orientation
Teaching & Learning Development
Develop and design teaching-learning materials aligned with module outcomes
Support part-time lecturers with faculty requirements
Conduct scholarly disciplinary-based or SOTL research to meet institutional research targets
Engage in professional academic development interventions
Minimum Requirements
Master’s degree (NQF 9) in Policing, Human Resources, or Public Safety (public safety major advantageous)
1–3 years of industry-specific experience in your specialisation
Minimum 3 years of lecturing experience
Qualification at least one NQF level higher than the module being taught

Classes scheduled between 08:00 – 17:00, Monday to Friday
