    Tender Overview

    The Agricultural Research Council requires a qualified pest management company to provide comprehensive pest and rodent control services at its Glen Satellite Office in Bloemfontein for a period of 36 months.

    The objective is to maintain a safe, hygienic, and pest-free environment through regular inspections, preventative measures, bait station management, treatment programmes, and monitoring activities.

    The contract includes monthly inspections, follow-up treatments where necessary, and a once-off ceiling treatment for designated buildings.

    Scope of Work

    The successful service provider will be responsible for:

    Monthly Pest and Rodent Control Services

    • Conducting monthly site inspections.
    • Monitoring pest activity levels.
    • Inspecting bait stations.
    • Replacing bait materials where required.
    • Performing corrective treatments when infestations are detected.
    • Maintaining treatment records and inspection reports.

    Rodent Control Programme

    Installation and maintenance of bait stations at the following locations:

    Office Block

    • 4 external bait stations (2 at each entrance).
    • 18 internal bait stations (offices and common areas).

    Smaller Equipment Store

    • 4 internal bait stations.

    Oven Store

    • 4 external bait stations.
    • 4 internal bait stations.

    Carports

    • 6 internal bait stations (3 at each carport section).

    Implement Shed

    • 6 internal bait stations.

    Ceiling Treatment

    A once-off treatment for:

    • Office block ceiling space.
    • Oven store ceiling space.

    This treatment should target rodents, insects, and other potential pests occupying ceiling voids.

    Key Responsibilities

    The appointed contractor must:

    • Supply all pest control products and equipment.
    • Install and maintain bait stations.
    • Conduct monthly inspections and monitoring.
    • Implement follow-up treatments when required.
    • Keep detailed service and inspection records.
    • Ensure safe handling and application of pest-control products.
    • Comply with environmental and occupational health regulations.
    • Provide reports and recommendations to ARC management.
