Tender Overview
The Department of Defence requires a qualified contractor to undertake building maintenance and repair works at the residence of the Officer Commanding (OC) Joint Operations Tactical Headquarters (J Ops TAC HQ) in Bloemfontein.
The project focuses on repairing a leaking roof and restoring damaged ceiling sections caused by water penetration. The objective is to restore the building’s structural integrity, weatherproofing, and internal finishes while preventing further deterioration.
Scope of Work
The successful contractor will be responsible for:
Roof Repairs
- Inspecting the roof structure to identify leak sources.
- Repairing damaged roof coverings.
- Replacing defective roof sheets, tiles, flashings, or waterproofing components where required.
- Sealing roof penetrations and joints.
- Ensuring the roof is completely weatherproof.
Ceiling Repairs
- Removing damaged ceiling boards and finishes.
- Replacing water-damaged ceiling sections.
- Repairing ceiling support structures if necessary.
- Reinstating ceiling finishes to match existing conditions.
- Preparing repaired surfaces for painting where required.
Building Maintenance
- Protecting surrounding structures during repairs.

- Conducting final inspections and quality checks.
