    The Programme Director will lead the academic and strategic management of the Department’s Linguistics and Language Practice programmes.     Responsibilities

    • Design and redesign curricula in consultation with relevant stakeholders.

    • Develop new learning programmes in alignment with industry and professional needs.

    • Manage operational plans, programme coherence, and financial resources.

    • Provide leadership to staff and promote transformation initiatives.

    • Ensure compliance with UFS governance, policy, and regulatory frameworks.

    • Oversee academic quality and manage curriculation processes.

    • Conduct research and provide high-level academic and registration advice.

    • Market programmes through faculty committees, road shows, open days, and professional engagement.

    • Develop marketing materials and annual marketing plans.

    Qualifications (Inherent Requirements)

    • PhD (NQF Level 10) in Linguistics, Language Practice, or a closely related field.

    • Full-time, permanent member of the academic staff in the Department of Linguistics and Language Practice at UFS.

    Recommendations

    • Experience in programme development and academic advisory services.
