Programme Director – Department of Physics
The Department of Physics at UFS seeks a dedicated Programme Director on a five-year contract to provide strategic and operational leadership for the department’s academic programmes. This senior academic role is open exclusively to permanent academic staff members within the Department of Physics at UFS.
The Programme Director will manage curriculum development, ensure academic quality, oversee programme administration, contribute to research and marketing initiatives, and foster a cohesive academic experience aligned with university governance and regulatory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and develop curriculum and operational plans for the department’s programmes

Lead academic coherence and quality assurance across modules

Oversee academic administration and regulatory compliance

Conduct independent research and contribute to scholarship

Provide academic advice on yearbooks, schedules, and timetables

Participate in faculty marketing committees and materials development
Requirements
-
PhD (NQF Level 10) in Physics or related field
-
Must be a full-time, permanent academic staff member in the Department of Physics at UFS
-
Experience in programme development and academic advisory services is advantageous
