Job Description / Scope of Work
The successful professional service provider will provide ongoing technical and institutional support to Letsemeng Local Municipality in relation to water quality management and regulatory compliance.
The work will focus on supporting the municipality’s participation in the Blue Drop, Green Drop and No Drop programmes, maintaining accurate compliance documentation, developing water management strategies and assisting with the resolution of audit findings.
Responsibilities
The appointed service provider will be responsible for:
- Providing professional support for Blue Drop, Green Drop and No Drop programmes.
- Supporting the municipality with water quality management.
- Assisting with the preparation and updating of water balance documentation.
- Ensuring conformity documentation reflects operational changes.
- Drafting and updating relevant water management strategies.
- Providing guidance on the interpretation of regulatory and compliance documentation.
- Updating conformity documentation annually or when regulatory requirements change.
- Assisting with regulatory compliance requirements.
- Addressing audit findings raised by the Department of Water and Sanitation Services (DWSS).
- Supporting the implementation of corrective actions arising from audits.
- Providing institutional and technical support to municipal personnel.
- Assisting the municipality in maintaining and improving water quality standards.
- Providing ongoing professional advice throughout the three-year contract period.
Requirements
The service provider should demonstrate:
- Proven experience in water quality management.
- Experience in regulatory and compliance support.
- Knowledge of the Blue Drop, Green Drop and No Drop programmes.
- Knowledge of relevant water quality legislation and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience developing and updating water management strategies.
- Ability to prepare, interpret and update conformity documentation.
- Experience addressing audit findings and implementing corrective measures.
- Strong institutional support capabilities.
- Project management experience.
- Qualified personnel with relevant qualifications and experience.
- CVs and supporting qualification documentation for relevant personnel.
- Ability to provide ongoing technical and professional support for the duration of the contract.
